Excursions

Salamanca is located in the east of Spain, two hours from Madrid in an area that is rife with contrasts. In the south there is the wonderful mountain chain Sierra de Gredos y La Peña de Francia, in the northeast the Arribes, which serves as frontier to Portugal and in the east there are reaching areas where you can find holly oaks and where wild bulls are browsing.

Its enclave allows making different trips to nearby cities that are at the same time cities of the world heritage like: Ávila, Segovia, Toledo, Alcalá de Henares, Cáceres…

Universpain organizes daytrips to these cities and for groups that want to stay longer Universpain can organize trips that last longer than one day to these or other places. We will organize: accommodation, transport, guided tours…

Movies

The movies of a country are presenting a country itself. Universpain has chosen different movies, which have the purpose to show the students different social, historical and political aspects.

At fixed times there are taking place screenings which will be followed by a group discussion. Social, topical, personal of causal relations will be analysed.

The didactic is the plot line for debates and reviews with regard to the movie.

Dancing lesson

The interest in Spanish music and dances is increasing from day to day in the whole world. Salsa, Merengue, Tango, Flamenco…belong to these dances. Two times a month Universpain offers to participate in a dancing lesson. Here you have the chance to learn the first steps of these rhythms.

Tapas

The bars in Salamanca are places where people meat to talk, get to know new people, eat tapas or just relax. Spanish people are spending a lot of time in these bars.

The most popular tapas are the tortilla (Spanish omelette), Russian Salad, croquettes, wild potatoes, ham…although Salamanca is especially famous for its sausage products and its pork and veal. The meat is known for its high quality.

In Salamanca there are many tapa bars, of which each has its own specialty. Sometimes it happens that the bars are competing with each other to find out, who has the most original tapas. Once a week a tapas session is organized by Universpain. This activity is chosen most often by the students. Here you have the opportunity to experience new tastes and get to know other students of Universpain and talk to the teachers.
