Activities
Universpain offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, which serve to complete the grammar lessons and get to know the Spanish culture.
The extracurricular activities take place in the morning from 12 o’clock or in the afternoon, after class.
Guided tours
The best opportunity to find your way in a new city is to get to know it from the very beginning. On several occasions the students have the chance to visit the most important buildings of the city. Before they will talk about the sights during their classes and receive special material as an introduction. It will be talked about the style, influences, artists, historical background, the impact…
Meals
To find out the cooking habits of a country it is important to get to know the people. For Spanish people it is very important to cook and it means much more than just to ingest food, it is more kind of a social rite. During the meal we have time to talk about the day with the students and to scheme or just to relax.
The Spanish cooking is in fashion. At the moment three of the ten best restaurants in the world are of Spanish origin and Ferrán Adriá is the most outstanding chef for years. The Spanish cooking is based on olive oil, fruits, fresh vegetables and a steady consumption of meat. But indeed the Spanish cooking is more multifaceted and depends on the region. The Castilian cooking is a combination of Arabic, Christian and Jewish influences. Most often you will find soups, roast and Iberian sausage products, not to forget all kind of fish dishes, for example codfish.
Castile-León is the wine country, as one can see because of the Ribera del Duero.
Universpain thinks that due to these events the students is given the opportunity to come together in a natural and relaxed atmosphere. A common dinner helps also to practice the things the students have learned in classes.
Our school organizes two dinners per month, each in another restaurant, in order that the students have the chance to try different menus.
